Set 1: Contemporary
These illustrations depict different kinds of gay couples in the bedroom. Do you share the same bed? Different beds? Add a strange roommate? Yes, some of these scenarios are bizarre but you’d be surprised how gay men live — especially in New York when you’re young. These strange juxtapositions of funny scenarios is what I tried to recreate in these isometric diorama.
Set 2: Ancient Rome
This set is particularly fun to make. I tried to use scenes and themes that are often seen in my works — men at the Roman Baths, snippets of relationships between older and younger men. The fifth (5th) image in this set is funny because one of the men’s foot is stuck inside some furniture in the bedroom. It looks strange but who knows what kind of wild “restraints” the men used in ancient Rome?! Never question creativity that works in a pinch!
The Roman Baths are some of my favorites. It does test the limit of resolution that Midjourney is able to create. I will likely redo these concepts in Stable Diffusion in the future so that I can fully get the level of details I wanted.
