Young Hercules and Rope
I’ve been attracted to the idea of men, rope and trees ever since I was very young. I can’t explain why. These images have been in my head for a long time. They have often appeared in my dreams also. I can visualize them very well, though I never tried to realize them as something visual until I discovered AI.
I made these in March 2023 with Midjourney as pencil drawings. Normally, I would post-processed them as black and white, but I decided to keep these as sepia because somehow this aged look fits better considered how long these have existed in my head. There are some technical challenges with Midjourney for what I truly intend to make, so I will likely revisit them in the future with Stable Diffusion. The challenge with Stable Diffusion mostly lies in its ability to render pencil drawings that I like — but that challenge has somewhat dissipated with SDXL.
