Angel / Disintegration
Some of you asked how I got the look and feel for my paintings. I use a combination of artists as source ingredients to give the right mix of colors, figure forms, emotional feelings. What artists I use depend on the images I try to create. It varies from image to image, but to give some examples, this angel / disintegration set is a combination of these 4 artists, combined with additional keywords for 3d animation techniques for the disintegration (e.g. dust, smoke, particle animation):
- Filip Hodas (3d artist from Prague)
- Q Hayashida (manga artist)
- Omri Koresh (graphic design and 2d art)
- The New Fauves (a group of artists from Germany “Die Neuen Wilden”)
I tend to mix 3-4 artists for most works, sometimes up to 6. It highly depends on the look I’m going for. Some artists influence the colors, while colors are great from brushwork. Using artists that draw manga but forcing them to be photorealistic 3d renders give a completely new kind of imagery.
Mixing artists is not something easily done with Stable Diffusion, because you simply don’t know if the models you’re using are trained with those artists. This is best done with Midjourney, which immediately give meaningful results. And then to create works that are not completely dependent on a single artist, you combine artistic styles that you’d like to see. Use text weights to tweak these influences further.
