Mr Andrew is a bodybuilder whom I’ve met on DeviantArt, the place where I posted my AI works originally. Despite his imposing physique, he is one of the nicest and gentlest people that I know.

He inspired me to make some images based on him in April, and he became the first real person ever to appear in my AI works. Lately, he has been prepping for a bodybuilding competition, and I was really in awe with how much he has gained, so I asked if he would allow me to make more images of him.

These images were made using a custom LoRA trained with images that he had posted on DeviantArt and Instagram. What are custom LoRAs? In Stable Diffusion technologies, LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) is a small set of instructions that contain “weights” for an AI engine to translate a keyword into images in a txt2img workflow.

By supplying this additional LoRA model to the AI engine during image generation, Stable Diffusion is thus able to render a man in Mr Andrew’s likeness, with facial features identical to him, and also the muscle mass and body shape that’s based on his photos.

Since I’ve been working on a series about the Roman Baths, I thought that I would place him inside the same setting, as a tie-in to the entire series.
