Group of Gladiators Fighting on the Beach 1

- 2Group Fight at the Beach (Study)
Having rendered a Gladiators fighting 1v1 on the beach, I tried to make larger groups, since that’s the type of paintings that I always respond to when I look at the ones by old masters. I didn’t know what to expect, and was quite impressed with the group configuration. It’s from this point however that I noticed the real issues and limitations with the current AI technology — limb configurations.
On the surface, the compositions are dynamic and truly brilliant. But when you dig deep into looking at the limbs and joints, you’ll find issues everywhere. These issues are really hard to fix with Midjourney. These paintings were rendered in March — so inpainting was not an option. The only way you could try to fix these issues back in March inside Midjourney is just to regenerate, and regenerate. Eventually I gave up on making group shots mostly because of it. However, occasionally I did get some nice renders, and I posted those.
I will admit however that this limitation of what you can change was yet another reason why I decided to look into Stable Diffusion, for by then I had heard about what it could do, and I hoped that it would let me do something beyond what I was able to do with Midjourney.
I will break this into 3 groups based on the general configurations of the compositions. All of these were rendered with fairly similar text prompts, and artists — you guess it, always Leyendecker, and hence the yellow tint.
