Construction is a recurring theme in my work. It reflects my appreciation for men who are down to earth and direct when expressing their opinions.

I believe this fixation on construction stems from my upbringing. Growing up in an environment where I was constantly reminded not to take things at face value, I learned to decipher hidden meanings in every interaction, even when there was nothing more than what appeared on the surface.

Like most manual laborers, construction workers don’t have the inclination to invent double or triple meanings behind every sentence. That’s why even though I don’t really directly cross paths with them in my daily lives, I found myself dating a few construction workers when I was younger — mostly because the internet provided opportunites for exploring the randomverse. It was refreshing to engage in conversations without having to overanalyze every word. When they said they loved me, I could believe that they truly meant it, without suspecting ulterior motives or manipulation tied to their own agendas.

I know it may sound strange, but this is the reality I was raised in. I yearn for a love that is simple and unburdened by constant suspicion or hidden motives. Falling in love should be pure and uncomplicated, without the need to constantly consider alternative interpretations.

In their simplicity, construction workers possess a certain beauty. Their directness and straightforwardness are qualities I admire. They are simple, and thus beautiful.

Laocoon Series

The Laocoon statue depicts a dramatic scene from Greek mythology. It shows Laocoon, a Trojan priest, and his two sons being attacked by sea serpents. The sculpture captures the intense struggle and anguish on their faces, creating a powerful and emotional portrayal.
