Man, God, Sunset

Sometimes technical errors can be beautiful.
Man, God, Sunset

In June 2023, I worked on a series of images where I tried to explore Greek mythology as something that not mythology but rather something that actually happened. To express that concept, I imagined a man built like the perfect Greek marble sculptures but a state that’s neither sculpture nor flesh.

Duality is an important element in my works — not just AI, but other mediums as well. So that’s one aspect that I tried to work on.

There are some technical errors as I experimented during that time to upscale the image natively at 4096 x 4096 in Stable Diffusion. But I also love the beauty of it. The txt2img diffusion tech in 2023 is full of errors, which AI artists often take time to manually remove. To me, they add this charm that I believe will become rather charming once AI is able to produce perfect images 10-20 years from now.

If you don’t believe me, look at all the glitch and video artifacts manually inserted back into videos during post productions in contemporary Hollywood blockbusters. One day in a distant future, you may be happy to see 6 fingers and wish that you have also preserved a part of the history.
