Rugby Diagrams
Infographic Series
I love diagrams and reference charts.
Growing up, those visual dictionaries that illustrate everything from cars to planes to practically everything are the types of books that I respond to the most. They contain a wealth of information while being visually engaging. If you’re not familiar with them, look up DK Dictionary on Google.
When I got older, I found myself drawn to information design. Although I don’t make visual dictionaries, I do make a lot of visualizations and info design — data-dense graphic designs that are filled with data. I make them for Fortune 500 companies as well as startups. Almost all businesses need a way to explain their complex concepts in a visually engaging manner to their customers.
I am not eloquent, so I tend to write a lot. If I need to deliver messages in a concise manner, I tend to draw diagrams to explain them. I have been doing this since I was very young. I have had years of practice simply because if I don’t draw a diagram to illustrate what I meant, then people may never understand what I wanted to say.
In a strange way, my deficiency in speaking is precisely the reason why I handled these visual explanation tasks so well. I am used to looking at massive amount of data and reducing them into a neatly organized packages, ready to be consumed.
So you might find me making a lot of charts in the future, it’s because this is a visual language that I adore, as well as something that I actually design professionally.
