Men’s Crew at the Boat House
I made these in August 2023 when I was getting used to the SDXL prompt style, which uses natural language processing instead of succinct text tokens. As an experiment, I wrote in SD 1.5 and employed ChatGPT to expand them into prose.
Interestingly, these AI elaborated prompts often give fairly good results simply because images that are trained with good description are usually those which are used to describe good images — it may be strange to think about image generation this way, but it does work.
Noting how responsive SDXL is with text, I additionally asked Stable Diffusion to insert words without using any control net. I found out that I’m able to insert the text I want as long as it’s repeated consistently throughout the prompt. The prompt goes something like this:
“This 3D Pixar-style animation brings to vivid life a 25-year-old Caucasian Yale crew member in stunning detail. The central character is tall, lean, and powerfully muscular, his physique a testament to strength and dedication. His face, cleanly shaven, bears the subtly softened features characteristic of Pixar’s human characters, his expression one of focused determination.
His crew uniform is a distinctive blend of Yale blue and white, fitting snugly over his athletic form. The capital Y and Yale insignia, boldly showcased on his apparel, stand out in sharp, vibrant contrast. Sitting just slightly askew on his head is a baseball cap, a casual addition that injects a touch of laid-back charm to the character’s overall appeal.”
In essence, describing the scene as if one is describing the a scene in a movie script.
