Lilies and Butterflies

White Lily Series (Lilium)
I posted an Instagram story today saying that I love men with flowers, and that you could see that as a recurring theme in my works. Yet when I scrolled through the recent images that I posted, I could see that I haven’t posted any flowers for two months now. So I decided to make some for today.
I also wished the take the opportunity to post some men that are on the slender side. There are several reasons for this, and I hope that I can articulate them well.
- Often people who don’t work with AI assumes that it takes more effort to make muscular men since you don’t see them often in real life. In fact, the opposite is true. Since muscular men tend to have a broader appeal, the AI models are often tweaked to render muscular men by default. In fact it takes quite a bit of work to slim them down and to make an average body. And if you want to add a tad of fat on the tummy, it can be quite a challenge.
- Many people assume that I prefer hyper muscular men as a result, but I actually personally date mostly tall lean guys. I am 188cm (6 ft 2) myself, and the men that I date tend to be taller than me. When you’re physically taller, generally you do tend to have a learning figure. So why don’t I make men that way in AI also? Well, it’s actually fairly hard to control the proportion in AI. Sometimes it’s also very time-consuming to work on a body type that you prefer, coz then you end up spending a lot of time tweaking the body type to perfection. Although men are the subject matters of most of my works, they’re rarely the focus. My works usually are about something other than the men — this aspect may be different than other AI artists who work with men. So if I then spend time tweaking the bodies to perfection, then I would lose sight of my intentions.
- I received a question on Reddit asking why there aren’t models that won’t just produce hyper muscular men. I answered by saying that you absolutely can produce lean figures if you know how to prompt for them. But to do that would require some prompting techniques. In essence, the most effective way to prompt for lean guys is not necessarily to put the skinny / slender / thin in the positive prompt. What you need to do instead is to put muscular / muscle / 6-pack abs / abs / bodybuilder / etc into the negative. Once you remove all those associations, you would be able to get a leaner figure. It‘s harder with some strongly muscular models like AWM and ABM, but with Virile it’s very possible, as shown in this set of paintings today.

These paintings are based on a photo of @m.a.j.i.c.t dated 2023-01-04 (Image 4). You probably won’t recognize him since the face was intentionally rendered to be different. But if you looked at the photo, then you’ll see that itß derived from it.
