I have always liked sneakers. It was never a fetish for me, but I do own lots of them. Shortly after making my Instagram account, I started chatting with someone who really liked sneakers. Originally, I came across his account because I saw how creative his photos are — all with just his sneakers and feet. It‘s really hard to take photos of feet — don’t believe me? Try it.
Anyway, to make the long story short, we developed a friendship and we chat about anything from design to sneakers to art. One thing that really irked me about his fee is that he really likes white sneakers. As for me, I haven’t bought a single pair of white sneakers in at least 20 years. So the topic came up and he really tried to convince me to get a pair of Air Force 1. Really not my thing, babe!
But I did hop online and checked out the options. I posted a poll on my story asking for people to vote for their favorite amongst the three that caught my eye.

Air Max Plus “Triple White” was the winner — not only that, I got some interesting DMs from people trying to convince me WHY I should get it — apparently it’s some subculture in France that made this super hip. So I put an order in. They’re quite hard to get. There are lots of sneakerheads where I live, in hot sneakers are always swiped off the shelf as soon as they’re available. Thankfully, I was able to find a collector shop who hunted a pair for me in my size.

They’re quite a bit snugged, but I have been wearing them. And whenever I wear them, I think about BB Love, the boy who loves white sneakers.
As I was walking around in my Triple Whites, I thought that it would be fun to make a painting series out of these sneakers. If you don’t know SDXL is quite responsive to sneakers down to the models — so much so that I wondered if Stability has special arrangement with Nike to train with these sneakers. So the paintings made with these sneakers are in fact quite true to the design.
Stylistically, I picked oil painting, with lean tall bodies and tattoos. People always asked me why I don’t show body types that I actually liked in my renders, so I made it a point to depict men that I’m attracted to for this set. Tattoo is something I only recently had a liking to — after AI works. They always add a bit of texture to the renders. When combined with abstract expressionism, it worked better than you’d think!
