I was not going to post these to Instagram originally, but I found myself not being able to explain the progression since I skipped quite a few. So I decided instead to post these anyway, but instead of taking a full row of 3 sets, just post one set for each step of the process. I can only post 10 images in one slot, so if you’d like to see the full set of 50, go to GymDreams8.com. Link in bio.
I made this series of a hunk wearing a variations of outfits — latex, jockstrap, sneakers, in red, black, and white — as a contrasting figure to the jock in white seen earlier. Black made sense as the opposite of white. But red is special — if you know graphic design, then you’d know that red is always the first accent color to pick after black and white. There’s a whole color theory behind it, but I won’t bore you here. If you really want to read about it, then I recommend looking up Jan Tschichold and Die Neue Typographie. The book is in German, but an English translation is available.

The combination of sneakers and latex has an interesting root — it was inspired by a photo @carlosfposada, where he paired a leather outfit with a pair of black sneakers with red shoe lace. I bet he didn’t even realize what an impression his photo made based on my comment, but it really did — it‘s special enough for me to try to make something out of that look. This unique combination of leather / latex, seen in this first image of this set, give an edge to the man wearing it — yet, the sneakers add a sense of playfulness and lightheartedness.

You’ll see that combination of black sneakers and red shoe laces in the 9th images in the set. Here paired with blue laser that outlines the Seed of Life, while light ribbons of red lights flow around the figure, to give a sense of movement and energy.
I wouldn’t in a million years think of pairing sneakers with leather and latex, but it works so well — thank you so much for the inspiration, Carlos!
