I made a mistake and found out that I have rendered a lot more variations of this, so here are more — 10 on Instagram and 54 on GymDreams8.com. Link in bio.
As I have mentioned in the previous set, the look and styling of these men were inspired by a photo of @carlosfposada, where he went to an event dressed head to toe in leather, but wore a pair of black sneakers with red shoelaces.
This unexpected combination came with an interesting story also — he told me that he was trying to travel light and didn’t pack any boots. So he wore a pair of black sneakers, which goes well with the black leather — but it‘s special because of the red shoelaces. While these figures don’t have the red shoelaces, that accent was realized through the red ribbons forming the shape of the Seed of Life.
What I tried to do in this set is to mix it up further. I had a friend who really likes white sneakers and is always trying to get me to wear them (LOL). I just can’t make it work… so I tried to do it in my renders to see if it would even work (is it crazy that I’m using AI to check a look? Why not?) So these renders would seem to suggest that maybe it could work. Maybe…
I kept all the men I posted on Instagram in long latex pants. The rest of the images (11-54) feature more variations and with some more daring and creative design choices.
For the lines, I moved back into ribbons so that the figures and play with the lines and thus integrate them more organically with the composition.
The structural form is still the same as the rest of the series — the intersections of the lines from the Seed of Life dictate the focal and terminal points of the figure. In other words, the structural forms are driving the movements of the figures. This is something that I also try to do in my drawings, but form fitting this way with the AI is definitely a breakthrough for me — which is why I’m so excited about this series, even if it seems strange to most of you.
10: This particular image, where the man is placed inside a red circle and forming his hands around the center point is one of my favorites — it looks as if he is playing a video game!
